THE CLOTHES
HORSE

The Clothes Horse has been a local fixture in Eugene, Oregon since 1992—a woman-owned resale shop known for its carefully curated mix of quality clothing. It’s the kind of place that draws regulars, where you can always find an unexpected treasure on the racks.

When Mariah Melson took over in 2018, she wanted to honor what made the shop special while giving it a fresh start. I worked with her to reimagine the brand for a new era of ownership. The goal was to elevate the experience without losing the charm.

We built a visual identity that’s warm, refined, and a little whimsical. Hand-drawn elements channel the feel of old garment tags, anchored by a serif that’s equal parts sensible and clever. The result is a brand that feels like a love letter to secondhand: a tribute to what’s worn, well-made, and worth passing on.
